EPFO rule change – Now, more people to get EDLI benefits

In good news for crores of employees covered under EPF, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has decided to extend the minimum assurance benefit under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance (EDLI) scheme. The Central Board of Trustees (CBT) took a decision in this regard in its 226th meeting, which was held on March 5, 2020.

Previously, this benefit was not provided to EPF members who worked in more than one establishment during a continuous period of 12 months preceding his death.
